Skip hire in Kimberley
Skip hire in Kimberley, Galeshewe and the surrounding Sol Plaatje area — connected to an operator who works the Diamond Fields.
What people hire skips for in Kimberley
- Renovation work on the older Belgravia and New Park houses, where corrugated iron and old timber come out together
- Municipal and school clear-outs, which tend to be scheduled rather than urgent
- Yard and plot clearing across Galeshewe and Roodepan, mostly mixed waste
- Shopfitting around the CBD and the Diamond Pavilion
Getting a skip in and out of Kimberley
Kimberley is easy to work: wide streets, generous stands and very little traffic to plan around. Two local things matter. Dust — a bin of dry rubble in a Northern Cape wind carries, so keep it damped down or covered. And distance — there are fewer operators here than in the metros, so book a day or two ahead rather than expecting a same-day drop.
Questions people ask
How far ahead should I book?
A day or two is sensible. Kimberley has fewer skip operators than Cape Town or Johannesburg, so the same-day drop you might get in a metro is less likely here. If it is urgent, say so on the form and we will tell you honestly whether anyone can do it.
Can I put old corrugated iron and fencing in?
Yes, that is ordinary mixed waste. What you cannot put in is asbestos, and a lot of older Kimberley outbuildings have asbestos sheeting. If you think that is what you have, say so — it needs a licensed contractor, not a skip.
What size should I take?
For a room strip-out, a 4 cube. For a whole yard clear, a 6. Rubble and sand are heavy, so if it is mostly building material take the smaller bin and fill it properly rather than half-filling a big one you cannot legally move.
