What people hire skips for in George
- Retirement estate renovations, which usually come with rules about where a bin may stand and for how long
- Holiday home refurbishment between seasons across George and Wilderness
- Building work on the newer King George Park and Heather Park developments
- Storm and tree clearing after a Garden Route front, which arrives all at once
Getting a skip in and out of George
George is easy in town and slower on the edges. The retirement and golf estates all have their own rules — check with the office before you book, because several will only allow a bin during set hours and some not at all on a weekend. Out towards Wilderness and Herolds Bay the roads narrow and steepen; a lorry with a loaded bin needs somewhere to turn, and a driveway that looks fine can be too steep to reverse a skip onto safely.
Questions people ask
My estate has restrictions. What should I ask them?
Whether a bin may stand on your driveway or must be elsewhere, what hours deliveries are allowed, and how much notice they want. Put the estate name on the form and the operator can deal with the office directly if that is simpler.
Is it more expensive out at Wilderness or Herolds Bay?
Usually a little, because of the travel. Most operators price by zone. If you are outside George itself, ask what the delivery charge is before you commit.
How quickly can I get a skip after a storm?
Slower than usual, honestly. After a bad front every operator on the Garden Route is clearing trees at once. Book as early as you can and be flexible about the size — availability matters more than getting exactly the bin you wanted.
